Pullman Hotel & Resorts is debuting ‘The Transforming Room’, a high-spec, high-tech space designed to be a place to work, meet, socialise, work-out, relax and sleep, at the Pullman Singapore Orchard.
Guests can access The Transforming Room’s high-tech controls by scanning a QR code, while the room’s functions can be customised and adjusted via an app. The Transforming Room’s features include a multipurpose workspace equipped with numerous outlets, clock, portable lamp, a drinking water tap and vanity mirror; a privacy screen to separate the space from the other side of the room and an LG-powered display for movies, fitness classes, room control feedback and presentations. Wellness and mindfulness sessions can be accessed via the app.
The technology also extends to the bathroom, offering adjustable mood lighting via a mirror while guests can customise a therapeutic shower experience. A ‘Murphy’ bed, stored discreetly in the wall, also enables the room to seamlessly transition from sleep mode to various multifunctional spaces such as a lounge, dining or meeting layout. The space can be used for private dining or a working lunch.
Once the bed is lowered, blackout curtains can be controlled via the app, while the room is filled with different scents to create an atmosphere aimed at influencing and inducing sleep.
Benoît Racle, global brand president, Premium at Accor said: “Pullman is embracing the fluidity of contemporary lifestyles and championing a softer approach to productivity. And that's precisely what the Transforming Room is designed to embrace. This innovative space seamlessly adjusts to the ever-changing needs of our guests throughout their stay, enabling them to effortlessly blend their needs in one space. Through cutting-edge design changes, the Transforming Room seamlessly transitions to cater to guests as they shift from work to wellness, socialising, or relaxation.”
Accor says The Transforming Room is the culmination of two years of research on consumer behaviour, business traveller needs and design innovation. The brand says it will integrate insights from the concept room into the future transformation of Pullman.
