Hilton will expand its luxury footprint in Japan with the launch of Conrad Kobe, its first hotel in Hyogo prefecture, scheduled to open in 2030.
The 136-room property will occupy the upper floors of the Kobe City Hall Building No. 2 redevelopment project, a mixed-use development directly connected to Sannomiya-Hanadokeimae Station.
Amenities include an all-day dining restaurant, a specialty restaurant, a lobby lounge, and a cocktail bar, along with an executive lounge, indoor swimming pool, a fitness centre, and a spa.
The hotel will also include a 500sqm ballroom and meeting facilities.
Strategically located between the redeveloping waterfront district and the city centre, the hotel also gives easy access to key attractions such as the Former Foreign Settlement of Kobe and Nankinmachi, one of Japan’s three major Chinatowns.
The signing comes as Kobe records rising tourism demand. The city welcomed a record 7.75 million overnight visitors in 2025, including 1.4 million international stays. Planned international services at Kobe Airport by 2030 are also expected to further support inbound growth.
The new hotel will strengthen Hilton's presence in the Kansai region, where it already operates Conrad Osaka, while complementing its growing luxury portfolio across Japan.
Alongside Conrad Tokyo and Conrad Osaka, the brand is set to grow with Conrad Nagoya in 2026, Conrad Yokohama in 2027 and Conrad Kobe in 2030.
