The creators of luxury resorts Six Senses and Soneva, Sonu and Eva Shivdasani, are ready to embark on a fresh adventure, while keeping their focus on ultra-luxury experiential travel.
According to media reports, in May this year the Shivdasanis sold a majority stake in Soneva to Denver-based KSL Capital Partners, to focus on a new brand, Sosei, meaning “rebirth” in Japanese.
Many details of the new venture are still under wraps, but the new brand’s appeal will embrace Japanese traditions of wellness and hospitality.
Sosei is set to expand beyond the island model to include boutique urban properties, marking a departure from the couple’s earlier island resort ventures in the Maldives and Asia.
