Radisson Hotel Group has netted a major deal by teaming with Premier League soccer giants Manchester City to develop a 401-room hotel at City’s Etihad Stadium.

Appropriately, the hotel will adopt the Radisson Blu brand – blue being Manchester City’s shirt colour.

The upper-upscale hotel, set to open in 2026, will form part of the soccer club’s multi-million-dollar development at the Etihad Campus, the area around Etihad Stadium that is being developed with extensive sports facilities.

Along with F&B outlets, the hotel will capitalise on the demand for corporate and MICE facilities in Manchester, with meeting and events spaces at Etihad Stadium.

The hotel will be known as The Medlock, named after the river Medlock that runs underneath the Etihad Campus.

“This hotel is a fantastic addition to a growing portfolio of several stadium-based properties in the UK, like the renowned cricket ground, Edgbaston Stadium, the Allianz Stadium Twickenham, home of England rugby, and worldwide in India and China,” said Elie Younes, executive vice president and global chief development officer at Radisson Hotel Group.
