Guests checking into lyf Chinatown Singapore won't just be handed a room key, they'll also get insider tips on where to eat, what to see and how to experience one of Singapore's oldest neighbourhoods like a local.

The Ascott Limited has officially opened the 90-key property, its fifth lyf-branded hotel in Singapore. Set across a row of conserved shophouses and a new building, the hotel welcomed its first guests on 3 July.

Instead of relying solely on concierge recommendations, the hotel has introduced lyf Hacks, a guide put together by its team with neighbourhood tips, nearby conveniences and local recommendations. Guests can also join a 90-minute Heritage Walk that explores Chinatown's landmarks, murals and lesser-known stories.

Other activities planned throughout the year include Chinese calligraphy, henna artistry, Muslim-friendly perfumery workshops and local food experiences, all developed with businesses and cultural partners in the precinct.

The property's design also draws heavily on the neighbourhood's past. Built across conserved shophouses, the hotel features commissioned artworks inspired by Chinatown's trading history, the Chulia community and familiar local symbols found throughout the district.

Genevieve Khua, country director, revenue management & area manager, lyf and The Unlimited Collection, Ascott, Singapore, said: "Every lyf property is shaped by its neighbourhood, and lyf Chinatown Singapore is no exception. Located in the heart of one of Singapore's most storied and dynamic districts, the property offers guests an authentic gateway to local culture, heritage and community."

She added: "As a brand that champions 'live your freedom', we invite guests to experience the freedom of living like a local, connecting with the community and exploring a neighbourhood that has welcomed people from around the world for generations."
