Come 20 November, Qatar is expected to see more than a million
international football fans coming through its borders for the FIFA
World Cup 2022. Hotels in Qatar are already reporting full occupancy
throughout that period, but fortunately for those late to the party,
three new 5-star hotels have just sprung up.
The saviours to Qatar's room scarcity comprise Wyndham Grand Doha
West Bay Beach; St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island, The Pearl Qatar; and
Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha, offering a combined total of 821 rooms when the
trio opens their doors in October.
Wyndham Grand Doha West Bay Beach

Wyndham Grand Doha West Bay Beach is located minutes away from the City Center Doha Shopping Mall, Corniche promenade, and the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre.
The 278 well-appointed guest rooms, suites and apartments at Wyndham
Grand Doha West Bay Beach feature high ceiling and vistas of the Arabian
Gulf. Each room also includes a flat-screen high-definition TV,
coffee/tea maker, and a work desk. Bathrooms are spacious featuring
freestanding bathtubs and premier toiletries.
Amenities within the hotel include a spa, complete with a sauna and
steam room; an outdoor pool; and a gym. There are three F&B options
comprising the Bazar West Bay that serves up international cuisine for
breakfast, lunch and dinner; the Crema Brew Bar for single origin brews,
handcrafted mocktails and light bites; and the pool bar dishing up
Mediterranean fare and drinks.
Wyndham Grand Doha West Bay Beach is located about 20km away from Hamad International Airport.
St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island, The Pearl Qatar

St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island is accessible via a link bridge that brings guests to the private island.
The 193-key St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island offers guests an exclusive
island getaway from the hustle and bustle (and football mania) of
Qatar’s city life. It’s an all-suite hotel with 13 types of rooms all
featuring large balconies overlooking the Arabian Gulf.
The hotel encompasses the entirety of the little island, offering
privacy and exclusivity for St. Regis guests. There are 10 dining
establishments housed within the island itself, featuring cuisines from
all over the world comprising Anatalia, Greece, Asia, Italy,
Mediterranean, South America and more.
Amenities include a fitness centre with complimentary fitness
classes, weights and cardiovascular equipment. There’s also a spa
offering a variety of head-to-toe treatments, alongside a steam room and
plunge pool.
Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha

All-inclusive luxury offerings awaits guests at Rixos Gulf Hotel Doha.
Touted as the first luxury all-inclusive beach resort in Qatar, Rixos
Gulf Hotel Doha is located near Hamad International Airport and Doha's
popular tourist and entertainment destinations. Rixos has taken over a
historic site that once used to house Qatar’s first 5-star hotel that
was established in 1973.
This upcoming property is inspired by its original predecessor,
featuring luxurious offerings under Rixos’ all-inclusive concept where
guests can enjoy a wide range of food and beverages, entertainment,
sports and kid’s activities without worrying about additional costs. The
350 rooms and suites are spread out across two towers.
The hotel houses several F&B concepts — Rasa, which puts a
contemporary spin on traditional Indian cuisine; Zoh, a poolside café
serving up American inspired dishes; Crust, a 24-hour artisan bakery;
M-Lounge, a luxury lounge with decadent food and premium beverages; and
Akte Pier 51 that pays homage to Aegean cuisine.
Hotel facilities include a kids’ club with exciting activities such
as musical games, treasure hunts, and more; a sports club equipped with
trainers and offering various sports challenges, CrossFit, Zumba, Yoga
sessions and water sports; and a spa with rituals dating back to the
Ottoman Empire.
