At Casa di Langa, you can have your truffles and eat them.
The new 39-room luxury hotel opened in Italy's Piedmont region this May 2021, promising authentic Piedmontese experiences such as learning from its working vineyards and cruising local villages on a Vespa.
It also touts the world's first truffle concierge, according to Travel + Leisure.
Piedmont is renowned for the prized Alba white truffles, and guests may forage for the edible gold right within the hotel estate — with the help of expert truffle hunters and their Lagotto dogs, known for their ability to sniff truffle out.
The truffle concierge will also help to send these gold back to guests' homes. These experts will store, clean, then ship guests' finds home.
As Alba white truffles are available from September to January, and black truffles can be found all year round, the concierge can additionally plan further truffle hunts off-site.
Naturally, the 39-key hotel also integrates the prized ingredient into its wine and food menus. A cooking school also offers classes so guests can take some Italian traditions home.
