InterContinental Sydney’s US$120 million renovation has culminated in the transformation of its public spaces, guestrooms, wellness areas, club lounge, restaurants and bars.

“InterContinental Sydney is one of the city’s most loved and storied hotels, and we are excited to welcome back our guests to form part of its next chapter and explore what the new era for this hotel hails,” said Jennifer Brown, general manager of InterContinental Sydney. “I know many are eager to sample the curated cocktails and soak in the spectacular views from our new rooftop bar. This is just one of the many new experiences we have to share.”

The inspiration behind the hotel’s new look was drawn from the Australian landscape, Sydney harbour and neighbouring Royal Botanic Garden.

Each of the hotel’s 509 well-appointed guestrooms and suites are given a modern face-lift, featuring green and blue accents derived from the room’s window views of the gardens and harbour. Additional in-room amenities include new integrated Google Chromecast services, Byredo toiletries and a minibar that offers curated beverages and snacks from local suppliers.

Guests staying in one of InterContinental Sydney’s refreshed Club Rooms can access the hotel’s new Club InterContinental lounge located within the property’s refurbished rooftop space that looks out to the Sydney Harbour.

The hotel’s entrance and lobby have also undergone a transformation, featuring intimate reception pods where guests can enjoy a more comfortable check-in experience. The main feature of this space is a new and intricate feature art wall that details a historical timeline of the city and property from 1788 to the present day.

To get their wellness and fitness on, guests can head to the new state-of-the-art gym and an indoor heated pool situated 31 stories offering breathtaking views of the Sydney Opera House.

There are three new F&B offerings to look forward to. Aster Bar on level 32 is a rooftop space featuring panoramic views of Sydney’s harbourside, offering immersive dining experiences that delve into quintessential Australia flavours.

There’s also another bar located at the lobby called The Treasury, serving up a menu of cocktails, wines and fusion dishes that integrates botanical flavours.

The Conservatory is newly designed breakfast space with open cooking stations and a walk-in pantry. Throughout the day and evening the space can be booked for exclusive use as a premium event space. A unique, circular private dining room, wrapped in floor to ceiling plush green velvet, is also available to hire for up to 16 guests.

Meeting planners can consider the fourteen flexible meeting and event areas complemented by revamped food and fine beverage experiences, refurbished rooms and suites and an on-site event and audio-visual specialist team. The hotel is equipped to host all scale of events from business meetings and intimate gatherings through to large conferences, brand launches, weddings and celebrations.
