Far East Hospitality is stepping up its regional expansion with the signing of a strategic alliance agreement with Indonesia's boutique hospitality and lifestyle name, Artotel Group.

The partnership will see both Asian brands collaborating across operations, branding, and training, as well as supporting business growth across markets.

Arthur Kiong, CEO of Far East Hospitality highlighted the "strong synergies" between Singapore and Indonesia, which he said are "key inbound markets for our respective tourism sectors".

He added that the alliance helps Far East Hospitality fit into "a niche segment which we are currently not represented".

“Amid discussions to explore a ‘travel bubble’ between both countries, we look forward to leveraging our combined portfolio to appeal to both domestic and regional markets.”

In Japan, the second property for the brand, Far East Village Hotel Yokohama will open in June, which follows the opening of Far East Village Hotel Ariake in July 2020.

The 277-key Yokohama property will be managed by Far East Hospitality under a hotel management agreement with Far East Organization.

Back on its homeground, Far East Hospitality will be expanding into the resort and spa category with the opening of the 191-key Oasia Resort Sentosa in the second half of 2021. This also marks the fourth property on Sentosa island managed and operated by Far East Hospitality.

“We have not let the pandemic detract us from our goal of growing our hotel portfolio through Far East Hospitality. We are looking ahead and positioning ourselves for the eventual recovery, by deepening our presence in markets where there is a long-term positive outlook for hospitality and tourism," said Far East Orchard’s Group CEO Alan Tang.

The Singapore-based group recently launched The Clan Hotel Singapore and Quincy Hotel Melbourne.
