Hyatt Centric, the trendy midscale lifestyle brand from Hyatt Hotels, is set to grow its global footprint by 50% by 2028, with plans to open over 35 new properties worldwide. This follows successful launches in cities such as Cairo, Shanghai, San José, and Santo Domingo in 2024.
A major focus for Hyatt Centric will be Asia Pacific, where the brand expects to increase its presence by more than 75% over the next three years. The expansion comes in response to the growing demand for stylish, modern hotels that appeal to Millennial and Gen Z travellers. These properties offer vibrant designs, sophisticated furnishings, and social spaces.
Emily Wright, vice president and global brand leader for Hyatt’s Classics & Essentials Portfolios, said, “The brand’s recent growth, including openings and planned developments, meets the rising demand from guests and members, especially Millennial and Gen Z travellers, for more contemporary accommodations with playful details, sophisticated furnishings and socially connected spaces.”
New Hyatt Centric hotels in Asia Pacific will include openings in India, Taiwan, and China. In India, the brand will introduce three new properties, including Hyatt Centric Bengaluru Airport and Hyatt Centric Electronic City Bangalore. Taiwan will welcome Hyatt Centric East Taipei, and in China, Hyatt Centric will open several locations, including Hyatt Centric The Ring Chengdu and Hyatt Centric Jinqiao in Shanghai.
The brand will also debut in Japan with Hyatt Centric Sapporo, scheduled for 2026.
Beyond Asia Pacific, Hyatt Centric plans new hotels in Chicago O'Hare, Hamburg, and Reykjavik within the next two years.
