Island Shangri-La, Hong Kong has unveiled its Family Floor on the 45th floor, introducing 21 uniquely themed rooms and suites that are designed to a haven for families.
Arriving on the 45th floor, guests will be greeted by a Hong Kong train station-themed lift lobby and corridors featuring garden or marine themes, leading to doors stencilled with marine or forest animals to guide young guests to their rooms.
The one-bedroom guestrooms are available in the Garden Lodge or Fisherman’s Cove settings, with the latter celebrating Hong Kong’s maritime heritage with a single deck bed resembling a traditional junk, rope walkway, and nautical decor.
The two-bedroom family suites are either kitted out as Hong Kong Wonders, with a bunk bed resembling the city’s iconic green trams and interactive buttons and pedals for children’s play; Safari Adventure, which recreates a safari experience with a canvas-tented bunk bed, suspension bridge, and African terrain mural; or Underwater Treasure, depicting a marine mural, a submarine bunk bed with driving panels, and a treasure chest filled with toys.
Launching in April 2024 will be the three-bedroom family suites, which will be expansive enough for parties and special celebrations with its separate living room and independent kitchen. Expect suite themes of Airship Voyage, which immerses children in the Hong Kong of yore with their own ‘airship’, a weather projection, and a treasure chest filled with nostalgic items; and Fairy Garden, featuring a pink pumpkin carriage bunk bed surrounded by an enchanting mural and a whimsical table and chairs set-up for tea parties.
In the communal areas, The Hangout features a grab & go station with healthy refreshments and scenic views, a workshop room for children's activities, and a cozy sitting room for relaxation. The Pantry offers home-like comforts, including laundry facilities and a variety of children-related appliances.
