Starting 16 December under the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL), fully vaccinated travellers will be able to travel between the Maldives and Singapore. Travellers are required to take Covid-19 tests instead of serving quarantine or stay-home notice.

For fully-vaccinated Singapore travellers, this means quarantine-free travel to Maldives and also quarantine-free return to Singapore. Entry into Maldives requires a negative Covid-19 PCR test result, taken within 96 hours before departure.

Travellers are also required to submit an online Health Declaration Form through the IMUGA (Maldives immigration) portal 24 hours prior to departure. Additionally, they are encouraged to install the Contact Tracing app “TraceEkee”.

The VTL scheme requires travellers to fly with a designated airline. From 16 December, Singapore Airlines (SQ437) will operate thrice-weekly (Wednesday, Thursday, Sunday) as the designated VTL flight between Male and Singapore.

The Maldives is listed under Category 2 of the Singapore Ministry of Health’s COVID-19 risk classification, which means the island country is seeing lower or similar numbers of Covid-19 cases as Singapore.
