Retaining the title of The Best Restaurant in Singapore is chef Andre Chiang’s Restaurant Andre, which rose one place to No. 2.

Singapore tied with China, Japan and Thailand to boast nine restaurants each on the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2017, an annual ranking of celebrated culinary spots determined by industry leaders. 

Retaining the title of The Best Restaurant in Singapore is chef Andre Chiang’s Restaurant Andre, which rose one place to No. 2.

Recipient of the Chefs’ Choice Award went to Dave Pynt from Burnt Ends in Singapore, which came in at No. 10. 

Since 2013, Pynt has been turning up the heat at the gourmet barbecue restaurant with his mastery of various cooking techniques – from smoking and slow roasting to grilling – thus earning him the respect of his regional peers. 

Now in its fifth year, the list welcomed 10 new entries, including Odette from Singapore by chef-owner Julien Royer. Debuting at No. 9, the restaurant – situated at National Gallery Singapore – is the highest new entry in the history of the list. 

Other Singapore entries include Les Amis (No.16), Waku Ghin (No.20), Corner House (No.23) Tippling Club (No.27), Jaan (No.42) and Shinji By Kanesaka (No.44).
