Travellers looking to ring in the New Year in Singapore are in for a treat with the return of the Marina Bay Singapore Countdown for its 20th edition. This year, the Countdown is part of the ONE Countdown event series celebrating Singapore’s 60th anniversary (SG60).

The festivities have already begun with illumi, a spectacular light and multimedia show making its debut in Singapore. Visitors can enjoy a variety of activities around the Marina Bay precinct, including performances by local artists at the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay and the “Brightening Lives” light projections at The Fullerton Hotel Singapore. These projections feature works by artists with disabilities, highlighting themes of success and inclusivity.

From 26 to 31 December 2024, The Fullerton Hotel will showcase eight captivating artworks every 15 minutes from 8:00 PM to 10:30 PM, extending to 10:45 PM on New Year’s Eve. These projections tell stories of ambition and growth, with themes of teamwork, diversity, and mental health resilience.

The Esplanade will also host “Come Together,” a series of free performances by emerging artists, adding to the festive atmosphere. Meanwhile, the illumi event continues, offering one of the world’s most extensive light displays and a special New Year’s Eve outdoor picnic under a canopy of lights.

The highlight of the celebrations will be the iconic fireworks display at Marina Bay, starting at 11 PM on 31 December and culminating in a stunning finale at midnight. For safety and crowd management, certain areas will have controlled access, and public transportation is recommended. The Crowd@MarinaBay map will provide real-time updates on crowd levels to help with planning.
