Yomiuri Land and The Yomiuri Shimbun have announced that PokePark Kanto, the first-ever permanent outdoor Pokémon-themed facility, will open in spring 2026 within Tokyo’s Yomiuriland amusement park.
Spanning 2.6 hectares in the green Tama Hills of Inagi and Kawasaki, the open-air park promises to immerse visitors in a world where over 600 Pokémon roam freely across forest paths and themed towns.
Nature takes centre stage in Pokémon Forest, where guests can explore hilly trails, tunnels and tall grass as Pokémon appear to play, battle and snack. Meanwhile, Sedge Town will serve up Pokémon parades, meet-and-greets, attractions and plenty of fan-focused retail therapy at the Pokémon Centre, Poke Mart, and Trainers’ Market.

“The park was created to repay the fans who have loved Pokémon for 30 years,” said Junichi Masuda, chief creative fellow at The Pokémon Company. “It would be fun to have a place where Pokémon are always there.”
Masuda added that the park aims to reflect Pokémon in their natural habitats. “They fly through the sky and move around freely… I thought that being in nature is very important for living creatures,” he said. “There are over 600 Pokémon in PokePark Kanto, and we have created a story for each of them.”
Tickets are expected to go on sale in late 2025, with more details to be released in autumn.
