ANA has been named the world’s cleanest airline.
ANA has been named the world’s cleanest airline.
We're not sure how airline ratings agency Skytrax arrived at this list of the world’s cleanest airlines – did they check every plane before a flight? - although we are not surprised that a Japanese airline came out top for keeping its cabins clean.

ANA All Nippon Airways topped a list dominated by airlines in Asia – seven of the 10 cleanest airlines in the world are based in Asia.

EVA Air and Asiana in second and third spots, are followed by Singapore Airlines, Japan Airlines and Cathay Pacific.

Qatar Airways, in seventh place, is the first non-Asian airline in the list.

Lufthansa rounds off the list at number 10. For an airline with so many planes flying (288) it's quite an achievement to maintain such a high standard across the fleet.
