Location and History
Billing itself as a "modern palace hotel," this is one of the newest luxury properties to set up shop in the city, opening its doors in 2009. It sits on the northern shores of Lake Pichola in Udaipur's Old Town. Most visitors arrive at the hotel via one of the hotel's electric boats, though there is a back entryway for those already in the Old Town. The Leela has its own golden autorickshaws, or tuk-tuks, to make transporting guests and luggage easy.
