Location and History

This hotel is in a beautifully restored historic building complete with hand-painted tiles and art nouveau design, which earned the structure the Valmor architectural prize a century ago.

In 1908, the king of Portugal was assassinated in the neighborhood, closer to the Tagus River, and the queen defended his honor shouting "infamous" at his killers. Today, that is the name of the hotel's restaurant, Infame.
