Travellers heading to South Korea this spring are in for a treat. From 25 April to 16 May 2025, the country is launching Korea Welcome Week – packed with new experiences, handy travel tools, and special perks just for international visitors.
New this year are welcome booths at key arrival points including Incheon, Gimpo and Jeju airports, as well as Busan Port. These booths aren’t just for directions – they’ll feature live displays of traditional Korean crafts, giving visitors a taste of local culture the moment they land. Multilingual staff will be on hand to answer questions and offer personalised travel tips.
Also debuting is a digital tourism map, created with Naver’s multilingual platform. Available online and at the booths, the guide highlights tourist hotspots, craft villages, shopping areas, and useful amenities like currency exchange points and transport hubs.
To sweeten the deal, travellers can snap up exclusive discounts, vouchers and souvenirs from 26 participating brands through the K-Tourism Partnership Programme. Think savings on food, shopping, and hands-on cultural activities – perfect for those looking to make the most of their holiday budget.
The timing of Korea Welcome Week coincides with peak travel periods in Asia, including Japan’s Golden Week and China’s Labour Day, making it an ideal time to visit. A second edition is already planned for October–November during the APEC Summit in Gyeongju.
