Uniworld Boutique River Cruises is launching a 46-night Rivers of the World Cruise in 2023 that will take travellers from Egypt to Portugal across nine countries on five different ships.
It's a first-of-its kind itinerary from Uniworld and comes on the heels of AmaWaterways announcing the launch of two 45-night, seven-river European cruises in 2023.
"At Uniworld, we always have elevation at top of mind and strive to continuously take steps forward in fresh and exciting ways," said Ellen Bettridge, president and CEO of Uniworld.
She said the itinerary is the company's "longest and most action-packed sailing to date. It's an itinerary like none other and a true vacation of a lifetime with surprises at every turn".
The Uniworld trip combines both river and land, starting in Egypt with a two-night stay in Cairo followed by a weeklong cruise aboard the company's new ship, the Sphinx. Guests will then cross the Mediterranean and fly into the Swiss Alps to spend two nights in the lake town of Lugano, followed by two nights in Milan prior to boarding La Venezia for a weeklong cruise along the Venice Lagoon and Po River.
The Toulouse Bar and Lounge aboard the Joie de Vivre, which will sail the Seine in northern France as part of the Rivers of the World Cruise.
From there, the trip continues on the Danube from Budapest, Hungary, to Passau, Germany, aboard the Maria Theresa, followed by a sailing in northern France on the Seine aboard the Joie de Vivre.
The trip ends in Portugal with a Douro cruise aboard the new Sao Gabriel, followed by three nights in Lisbon.
Prices start at US$38,999 per person.
