MSC is sailing into its newest ship class with an order for four 180,000-gross-ton ships and an option for two more.
The 5,400-passenger vessels will mark the launch of MSC’s New Frontier ships, to be delivered annually starting in 2030.
The vessels will be constructed in Germany by Meyer Werft, marking the shipbuilder's first project with MSC.
“The New Frontier class will enable us to design new and exclusive itineraries, offer exceptional guest experience and feature next-generation environmental technologies that will advance our net-zero 2050 commitment,” said executive chairman, Pierfrancesco Vago.
Only a few months earlier in August, MSC ordered two more World Class ships, scheduled for delivery in 2029 and 2030.
