CruiseWorld Indonesia made a dynamic return to The St. Regis Jakarta on 17 July 2025, drawing 207 travel trade professionals for a full-day conference spotlighting the country’s growing cruise potential.
Hosted by Travel Weekly Asia, the event opened with a welcome address by Irene Chua, Vice President, Asia of Northstar Travel Group, and featured prominent cruise leaders and travel experts across a packed agenda of keynotes, fireside chats, panels, and networking sessions.
“As we all know, Indonesia is the world’s fourth-largest population and a middle class that is rapidly growing. Despite its vast potential, Indonesia’s cruise market has yet to reach its full power,” said Chua.
Keynote conversations with StarDream Cruises President Michael Goh and Royal Caribbean Vice President and Managing Director, Singapore and Asia Pacific Chad Grospe underscored the exciting array of cruise itineraries and offerings in Asia, robust development of the cruise market, and opportunities for future growth.
Other highlights included insight sessions by Hanley Budiman of ASTINDO on Indonesian traveller trends, and Chatrine Siswoyo of Vero, who shed light on what travellers are watching, following and booking.
Panel discussions also tackled critical topics such as:
What’s driving Indonesia’s cruise market
Group and incentive cruise opportunities
Smarter selling through partnerships
The role of air connectivity in cruise growth
Content-driven conversions in the digital age
Speakers included representatives from Raya Utama Travel, Golden Rama, Felia Tour, Amway Indonesia, Singapore Airlines, and Indonesia AirAsia, among others.
