Global travel technology provider Sabre has appointed Japanese reservation and ticketing provider Infini as the sole distributor of its technology solutions in Japan, as part of an agreement signed on Wednesday (June 5).

Tokyo-headquartered Infini will market Sabre’s global distribution system (GDS) together with its own Infini distribution product. This will enable the Japanese company to tap into Sabre’s airline connectivity, seat reservation and ticketing functionalities for Japanese customers.

“Under this significant agreement we will ensure that our customers are best-equipped to address the fast-changing industry in which we operate,” said Kimio Uemura, CEO, Infini.

“We are confident that our local expertise, paired with Sabre’s global content and innovative technology, will deliver superior, end-to-end experiences to travellers,” he added.

Infini provides services to local Japanese travel agencies and online travel agencies (OTAs), and has been using Sabre’s GDS as a host system since 2000.

“We are pleased to partner with INFINI as our official distributor in Japan and provide the agency community with access to over 420 airlines and 285,000 hotel properties, in addition to industry leading technology solutions,” said Todd Arthur, vice president, Asia Pacific, Sabre Travel Network.
