The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has launched a new platform aimed at accelerating the adoption of travel technology across the country's tourism sector by connecting startups with tourism businesses, government agencies and potential investors.

Unveiled at the Amazing Thailand Innovation Gadget & Travel Tech Networking event in Bangkok on September 18, the Amazing Thailand Innovation Gadget platform is designed to help Thai travel technology providers bring their solutions to market and integrate them into the visitor experience.

The initiative was launched in partnership with the National Innovation Agency (NIA) and forms part of Thailand's broader efforts to strengthen innovation within the tourism ecosystem.

Speaking at the event, Nattaphan Threedacha, TAT Executive Director for Tourism Investment Promotion, said the value of travel technology lies in its ability to solve real-world challenges for both travellers and businesses.

"Travel technology has its greatest value when innovation moves beyond the screen and becomes part of the actual travel experience," she said.

"Through Amazing Thailand Innovation Gadget, TAT creates a bridge between Thai startups' ideas and the changing needs of travellers and businesses, turning those ideas into real-world solutions."

The platform serves as a showcase for tourism technologies and provides a channel for entrepreneurs to connect with potential users, partners and customers. It builds on TAT's existing Travel Tech Startup programme by focusing not only on startup development, but also on commercial adoption and practical deployment across the tourism industry.

Developed in collaboration with the NIA, the platform seeks to create new opportunities for Thai innovators while helping tourism operators discover technology solutions that can improve efficiency, enhance visitor experiences and support business growth.

The launch event also featured a discussion session titled When Collaboration is the New Competitiveness, which explored how partnerships between startups, businesses and public-sector organisations can unlock new opportunities as technology continues to reshape tourism and consumer behaviour.

More than 100 representatives from startups, government agencies and private-sector organisations attended the accompanying Travel Tech Networking session, where participants explored potential collaborations and opportunities to bring tourism technologies into wider use.
