Jeju's first JW Marriott property has opened its doors on a cliff in Seogwipo, overlooking the stunning volcanic coastlines of the famed Korean island.

JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa has 197 guest rooms, including 28 suites. The Deluxe Rooms cover an area of 45sqm and come with separate powder rooms, while Suites start from 92sqm, with some even having their own marble bathtubs for two.

Designed by luxury hotel designer Bill Bensley, the resort's architecture took design inspiration from Jeju's natural beauty and its farming and fishing traditions, featuring low lava stone walls, cabbage fields, and mustard flowers in its landscape. The abundant use of gray, black and white colours to represent the volcanic landscapes of Jeju, as well as yellow, a lucky colour in South Korea, makes a striking colour palette with the hardwood furniture across the resort.

Dining options at the resort include the Island Kitchen, an all-day dining restaurant that showcases Jeju's local produce, including yellowtail tuna, Jeju black pork, and locally produced vegetables. Yeoumul is a Jeju-style omakase restaurant, featuring seasonal ingredients and fresh seafood harvested by the island's female haenyeo divers. The Lounge, with its resident coffee master, offers specialty coffees and a high tea set featuring locally produced lemons, carrots, and green barley from Gapado and peanuts from Udo. The resort also offers a BBQ and rotisserie restaurant, The Flying Hog, and an outdoor poolside bar, Bar Botan.

The resort also boasts the Grand Ballroom, which can accommodate up to 600 guests, and other function rooms can be customised to suit various events.

JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa also offers activities like light morning walks, morning yoga, pilates, meditation yoga, or sound healing sessions. There also also special interest activities such as Jeju tea ceremonies, traditional wine tastings, and wine art classes. The Spa by JW features sauna facilities, and four indoor and outdoor swimming pools supplied by the island's volcanic springs.

The resort offers family-friendly amenities such as a kids' club, playground, and swimming pool. Additionally, kids can participate in outdoor adventure activities, such as Jeju Forest Adventurers, which provides a safe opportunity to explore the nearby forests.

Families can also explore the island's natural beauty with the Picnic Rental Service. Moreover, children can take part in a Children's Cooking Class that uses fresh produce harvested from the resort's JW Garden to create dishes.

JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa is also located near Route 7 of the island's famous Olle Trail, a walking path that follows the coastline for approximately 17.7 kilometres.
