Amadeus has unveiled an enhanced version of its web services solution for travel agencies that will offer NDC-enabled travel content.
Amadeus has partnered global online travel agency Travix, a key driver of its NDC-X programme, to co-design the solution, which has had live NDC bookings in production since last year.
Key adopters of the solution include AERTiCKET, American Express Global Business Travel, BCD Travel, House of Travel, and integrated tourism group TUI.
The solution, available as an API, integrates with agencies’ existing systems and enable them to build their own travel booking applications. It will be rolled out globally on a gradual basis.
New airline content and fares will be offered alongside its content from traditional technology such as EDIFACT, and other APIs.
Other functionalities include cross-selling of ancillary services and upselling of branded fares, change and cancellation features that includes refund, void or exchange options, credit card and cash payments and optimise for both mobile and web interfaces.
“Over the last year, we have worked hard alongside our NDC [X] partners to develop scalable, user friendly solutions that will give agencies access to content sourced through an NDC connectivity,” said Rudy Daniello, executive vice president, Customer Operations, Travel Channels, Amadeus.
“With the technology now in place, we look forward to seeing what new and exciting content airlines can provide to ensure worldwide adoption of NDC,” added Daniello.
“Through the solution, NDC bookings are gaining momentum and we are already reaping the benefits and delivering different, and more personalized offers to our customers. It gives us great pleasure to support Amadeus as it today launches the solution globally to its travel agency customers,” said John Mangelaars, CEO, Travix.
Amadeus has partnered the likes of Qantas, Finnair, Flight Centre and Travix to scale its NDC capabilities. In the coming months, Amadeus will also be launching the NDC-enabled version of its cloud- based travel agency solution, Amadeus Selling Platform Connect.
It has also been made headlines, announcing partnerships with leading industry names such as Singapore Airlines, Flight Centre and most recently their digital transformation efforts for Cathay Pacific.
