Ten China based luxury travel agencies attended Virtuoso’s 30th annual travel week event in Las Vegas last month.
The event offers travel advisors the best platform to engage with luxury suppliers from across the globe through an extensive schedule of one-on-one meetings over four days.
Like a number of China based travel agencies, Virtuoso agency member Zanadu attended the event for the first time.
“The experience has been beyond my expectations,” Zanadu chief product officer, Rick Xie said.
“It’s not only the network meetings, it’s the professional development and engagement with Virtuoso staff who we can now work with effectively to really understand the services and tools Virtuoso offers to its network.”
Xie said five years ago the luxury market in China did not exist, “so while we are evolving quickly, we are still at the beginning of developing these networks and connections”.
Virtuoso’s regional director, Asia, Evan Pierce said a number of China-focused initiatives were announced during Virtuoso Travel Week, including the first-ever Virtuoso Travel Week On Tour Asia event which will take place in Beijing, Shanghai and Hong Kong in 2019.
“Virtuoso Travel Week on Tour, Asia, will further enhance our engagement in the region, giving local front-line advisors a taste of the magic that happens in Vegas,” Pierce said.
