Travel agencies in South Korea responding to surging air ticket
prices and the weakened Korean won with charter flight package tours,
according to local media reports.
These charter flight package tours mainly take travellers to various
destinations around Southeast Asia and are offered on the basis of
charter contracts between the travel agencies and airlines. Since it’s
based on a contract, air ticket prices remain as per the agreement even
if fuel surcharges increase.
Hana Tour is one such travel agency selling charter flight tickets
for popular Southeast Asian routes, like Danang, Phuket and Boracay,
bundled with travel insurance. The travel agency sold these specially
packages departing in July and August in a live e-commerce video.
The company is also selling charter flight tickets departing from cities in South Korea, including Busan-Danang and Muan-Danang.
Another travel agency that has adopted this concept is Mode Tour
which is bundling charter flight tickets to Southeast Asia with hotels.
Its tour package products include a four-night package to Danang and Hoi
An in Vietnam, and another different one for Cebu and Bohol in the
Philippines.
