Discova is keen to take its tailor-made travel services up another notch with the launch of an app to help guests holiday in style.

The DMC’s new app – Travel Tailor – features an easy-to-use interface and a AI tailor, allowing users to access it at any time during their travels for advisory or updates on their attire.

The app is intended to be white labelled and will be free for all Discova partners to roll out to their customers.

Andrew Turner, global director of sales at Discova, said: “Our partners trust us to deliver high-quality, tailor-made travel experiences so extending our offering to tailored fashion was a logical progression.

"After countless trials and ill-fitting samples, our Travel Tailor app is now ready for release. From budgie-smugglers to socks and sandals, we know that mistakes can be made when you travel, and we want to do our bit to help travellers stay on the right side of good taste.”

Travellers can download the app to their mobile phone and then upload a selfie, after which the cutting-edge AI technology will build a profile for the user, complete with accurate measurements and their perfect colour palette.

With Discova's tailor-made holiday itinerary information also automatically uploaded to the device, a complex algorithm in the app will trawl weather reports, climate history and even altitude information to best advise on appropriate laying options and attire for the user.

Discova said the AI tailor app will provide "no-holds-barred commentary", although users can either ignore the advice or click-through to the ‘Fitting Room’ — a unique feature that taps the user’s profile and itinerary information to create outfit options and then uses geolocation information to identify the nearest clothes stores where the outfit may be purchased.

Turner added that the DMC took nearly a year of development for the app and has conducted extensive testing prior to launch.

"Having rolled out the app throughout the company, it’s safe to say that now, it’s not just our itineraries that look great!” he remarked.

The Discova Travel Tailor app will be available exclusively to prioritised users from 9am until 12pm on April Fool's Day.
