Asnawi Bahar the chairman of ASITA, told the state news agency Antara, “It is very much regretted that they (the illegal Chinese guards) are selling very low-priced travel packets and forcing tourists to shop at their stores.

The Indonesian Association of Travel Agents (ASITA) has called for action against what it says is the large number of unlicensed tour guides from China working illegally on the Island.

Asnawi Bahar the chairman of ASITA, told the state news agency Antara, “It is very much regretted that they (the illegal Chinese guards) are selling very low-priced travel packets and forcing tourists to shop at their stores.

“They do this (force people to shop at their stores) in order to make up for the below market price of their travel packets.”

Bali Update (www.balidiscovery.com) said Asnawi has called on the provincial government of Bali to create regulations that clarify and control the situation.

Bali Governor Made Mangku Pastika said he would be raising the problem of illegal tour guides with the Ministry of Justice and Human Rights, specifically for action to be taken by the Director General of Immigration.
