12 March 2003KUALA LUMPUR - Singapore Airlines launched its own brand
of tour products, SIA Holidays, for the Malaysian market on
Monday.
With the tagline, "Days you'll remember", SIA Holidays
are free and easy packages targetted at FITS. They offer a
wide range of sightseeing tours and accommodation, and
airport/hotel transfers. All tours are via Singapore on
SIA.
SIA general manager Peninsular Malaysia, Chen Sy Yen, is
confident the new packages will do well as FIT is a fast
growing segment in Malaysia.
SIA Holidays are also to complement the airline's new
inflight products and service, he added.
Tradewinds Tours and Travel, a fully owned subsidiary of
SIA, will provide the ground arrangements for the
tours.
Kuala Lumpur-based TravelSave Tours & Travel Sdn Bhd
has been appointed the general sales agent to promote and
distribute SIA Holidays in Malaysia.
With this appointment TravelSave's retail outlet here,
at the Sungai Wang Plaza, will also be the official
flagship store for all SIA travel products including air
tickets. To reflect this it has repositioned itself as SIA
Holidays Travel Centre to service all SIA customers.
TravelSave's distribution manager, Jennifer Lim, is
confident the company will be able to bring in RM25 million
(US$6.58 million) by the end of its financial year ending
March 31, 2004.
Both SIA and SIA Holidays Travel Centre will be
marketing SIA Holidays at the 15th MATTA International
Travel Fair, which will be held here at the Putra World
Trade Centre from 14-16 March
