Sarah Clark has commenced in the role of CEO of Tourism Tasmania,
taking over the helm of the state’s top tourism marketing body as the
development of the 2030 Visitor Economy Strategy well underway.
The Tasmanian native has served on Tourism Tasmania’s board since
September 2021 and brings significant skills and global experience to
the role, having been a leader in the tourism industry specialising in
travel and marketing across multiple continents.
In her new role, Clark hopes to drive Tasmania’s vision and plan of being a global leader in sustainable tourism.
“We are a destination on the top of many Australian and international
travel lists. People are looking for enriching and meaningful travel
experiences and Tasmania is unlike anywhere else in the world," she
said.
“I am thrilled to lead the incredible and very capable team at
Tourism Tasmania, and work with the wider tourism industry, to drive
positive social, cultural and economic impact to Tasmanians through a
strong and sustainable visitor economy.”
Clark's recent roles include working at Intrepid Travel, the world’s
largest adventure travel company, with previous senior roles including
leading the global youth business as global general manager at Topdeck
Travel, and as vice president for STA Travel in Dallas, leading strategy
for air, product, marketing and online performance.
