Pauline Suharno has been unanimously reelected as chairperson of ASTINDO - The Indonesian Travel Agents Association for the 2025–2029 term, marking her second tenure at the helm of one of Indonesia’s most influential travel trade associations.

Under her leadership from 2021 to 2025, ASTINDO rose to greater prominence both at home and abroad through initiatives championing the Bangga Berwisata di Indonesia (Proud to Travel in Indonesia) campaign and supporting travel agents’ participation in major international tourism fairs.

The election took place during ASTINDO’s 6th National Congress (Munas VI) held in Labuan Bajo from 27–29 October 2025, where over 100 delegates from across Indonesia gathered at the Golo Mori Convention Centre to chart the association’s future direction.

As she embarks on a new term, Pauline outlined her vision to strengthen ASTINDO’s transformation – expanding its focus beyond outbound travel to develop Indonesia’s domestic and inbound tourism potential. She also reaffirmed the association’s commitment to sustainability, encouraging members to embrace the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals within their operations.

Expressing her gratitude for the renewed mandate, Pauline said: “I’m deeply touched and proud of the trust shown by our members. ASTINDO is not just an association – it’s a home, a family. Every member contributes to our success, and without them, we wouldn’t be where we are today.”

Delegates lauded ASTINDO’s active role in promoting Indonesia through initiatives such as the #diIndonesiaAja Travel Fair and Jakarta Travel Fair, as well as participation at international events like the ASEAN Tourism Forum, ITB Berlin, and the Wonderful Indonesia Tourism Fair.

The congress also spotlighted local tourism issues, including calls from ASTINDO Labuan Bajo representatives for wider cruise tourism dispersal beyond Komodo Island and improvements to local waste management.

The three-day event concluded with a post-tour highlighting Labuan Bajo’s attractions – Padar Island, Pink Beach, Loh Buaya, and Kelor Island – capped by a sunset cruise aboard the Magica and Lady Grace phinisi vessels.
