TOKYO - Japan Trade Inc., a Fukuoka company managing sports facilities, announced its plan to build a 100 billion yen (US$893.5 million) Paramount Pictures Corp. theme park in Fukuoka.
The theme park will feature attractions based on movies. It will also offer an educational facility to train engineers in computer graphics in a tie-up with University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The theme park and educational facility is scheduled to open in 2010 and is aiming for sales of 50 billion yen a year.
