China World Hotel Beijing is in the final stages of a US$30 million renovation programme. It has unveiled 668 new guest rooms, with more to be open by early March.

A new feature is Beijing's first Oxygen Room located in the Fitness Centre. The Oxygen Room offers pure air to weary travellers - 95 percent pure oxygen, says the hotel, compared to the air that surrounds us which is 21 percent oxygen and 78 percent nitrogen.

Beyond clean air, the hotel now offers a newly refurbished Grand Ballroom, which can take up to 800 people. Eighteen new functions rooms became operational late last year.

"After 13 years, we need to upgrade the hotel to meet travellers' needs," said director of sales & marketing, Johan Chan.
