SINGAPORE - Meritus Hotels & Resorts' 30-year-old flagship Mandarin Singapore has adopted the Meritus branding.

Now called the Meritus Mandarin Singapore, the 1,200 room hotel is undergoing a S$52 million renovation programme that includes its Grand Tower, South Tower and main entrance. Renovations are still ongoing.

At a grand luncheon thrown for the travel trade, Meritus Hotels & Resort's president Michael Ow said the rebranding of its flagship was part of strengthening the Meritus corporate brand.

"I can assure you we will preserve all that is good, all that is worthy and all that is desirable to make it better. We will simplify without diluting our heritage of hospitality," he said.

Other hotels in its portfolio that have adopted the logo and branding of the Meritus brand include the Meritus Mandarin Haikou and the Marina Mandarin Singapore. The latter retains its name but has adopted the corporate logo.
