VIENTIANE - Laos, Cambodia and Thailand have agreed to cooperate in tourism development in their border area called the Emerald Triangle, the Lao News Agency KPL said Tuesday.

The agreement was the result of talks among foreign ministers of Laos, Cambodia and Thailand held in Laos' southernmost province of Champassak last Saturday.

Under the agreement, the three countries will work together to promote the exchange of experiences and cooperation between organisations of both state and private sectors in tourism development. An information center will also be set up in Champassak to offer tourism-related data of the countries, especially of the Emerald Triangle.
