Indian arrivals to Thailand up

NEW DELHI – Indian visitor arrivals to Thailand increased by 23.7 percent in 2000 over the previous year, making India Thailand’s eighth largest Asian market.

According to Tourism Authority of Thailand India representative, Pinki Arora, the meetings and incentives market was considerably up (44 percent) with comparatively larger groups going to Bangkok and Pattaya and upmarket meetings to Phuket. Business travellers increased by 31 percent.

TAT is now looking at targeting special interest groups for golfing holidays to Thailand.
