“With a long history of fine ceramic production, Foshan has morphed into a furniture and accessories hub in recent years,” said Michel Molliet, Chief Operating Officer, AccorHotels Greater China. “The city's enriched culture blends perfectly with the design and architecture of Sofitel's DNA.”
The 236-metre, 62-storey hotel is the tallest in the city. 325 guest rooms collectively give a 360-degree panorama of the city looking out, while inside guests can choose between four guestroom themes; modern, post-modern, neo-Chinese and Classic French.
In addition, there will also be two floors of furniture gallery space showing art and designer furniture ideal for the design aficionados likely to be staying.
While the aesthetics are eye-catching, AccorHotels’ Planet 21 initiative ensures that they have been designed and constructed in an environmentally friendly manner.
Dining includes all-day-dining and Italian restaurants as well as a bar that offers wine tastings and the first Sky Bar in the city.
Plenty of MICE facilities include 3,000 square metres of function space including a grand ballroom inspired by Napoleon III’s Grand Salon Apartment, six meeting rooms and an outdoor terrace.
Guests can relax in the SoSPA with L’OCCITANE where the same fusion of Chinese and French, this time in traditions and cosmetology respectively, bring the two cultures together, alongside the 24-hour SoFIT fitness centre and indoor pool.
The Sofitel Foshan joins the brand’s portfolio with just opened Sofitel Baltimore in Paris and Sofitel Dubai Wafi, and properties to come in Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Sydney and Mexico City.
