“By engaging children and parents through meaningful activities that are interesting and enjoyable for everyone, Family by JW lets every family create their own wonderful holiday memories that will last a lifetime,” said Ryde.
JW Marriott is making its tiny guests a big priority as part of its signature family programme, Family by JW, which it rolled out across its Asia Pacific properties last weekend.
The initiative, which caters to children aged five to 12 years old, will be available across its 43 luxury properties in Asia Pacific.
Various touches tailored to kids can be arranged at various properties, such as a VIP check-in that lets kids stand on “mini-steps” at JW Marriott Hotel Shanghai Changfeng Park and educational behind-the-scenes hotel tours at JW Marriott Hotel Mumbai Sahar.
Families can also plan for multi-generational experiences such as an easy cycling tour, cooking classes, family picnics, fish feeding and shibori tie dyeing.
“We have seen an increased interest in family-oriented travel, and JW Marriott hotels are responding to this trend with a great series of curated experiences unique to each destination,” said Bruce Ryde, vice president, Luxury Brands and Brand Marketing Asia Pacific, Marriott International.
“By engaging children and parents through meaningful activities that are interesting and enjoyable for everyone, Family by JW lets every family create their own wonderful holiday memories that will last a lifetime,” said Ryde.
Last weekend, guests had a preview of the programme at JW Marriott Phuket Resort & Spa.
Highlights included an exclusive dinner featuring 200-year-old family recipes, learning about local produce and planting in the JW Garden and a closing farm-to-table dinner under the stars which featured sustainable, locally-sourced fresh ingredients.

Families can book an experience with Rice, who will be touring eight JW Marriott properties in Asia to conduct swimming, fitness and stretching classes. There will be over 25 packages and activities that families can opt for from now till late-August.
