IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the signing of InterContinental Manila, marking the luxury brand’s return to the capital after over 15 years.
“The InterContinental brand has a storied history in Manila, having first opened in the city in 1969 and for 46 years it was a symbol of luxury and a hotel icon,” said Vivek Bhalla, MD, South East Asia & Korea, IHG Hotels & Resorts.
“Reintroducing InterContinental to Manila is a wonderful milestone, and a perfect fit for the city with strong long-term fundamentals and increasing demand for luxury travel. This signing reinforces our commitment to expanding our Luxury & Lifestyle presence across the Philippines and the wider region.”
The 212-key hotel is set for a 2032 launch in Metro Manila’s Bonifacio Global City, a 2.4 sqkm master-planned district and business hub converted from a former military base. The area is also home to the Philippine Stock Exchange, MNCs, and some of the country’s tallest and most iconic landmarks.
Amenities include an all-day dining restaurant and a signature specialty restaurant and bar, health club and spa, outdoor pool with bar, and a range of events spaces.
