BANGKOK - The 34-storey Carlton Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit has opened in the city’s prime location between BTS SkyTrain Asoke and Phrom Phong stations, the former just a six-minutes’ walk away.

From outside, it’s extremely easy spotting the hotel’s striking architecture set in bold curves soaring 34 storeys high, with its prime address along the busy Sukhumvit road.

Offering 338 rooms and suites ranging from 37sqm to a generous 129sqm, guests can expect privacy thanks to floor-to-ceiling soundproofed windows, and other luxurious touches such as a 49-inch smart TV set with Chromecast mirroring and Apple TV functions, premium Sealy Posturepedic mattress, and motion sensor-controlled lighting for reduced energy consumption when rooms are unused.

An expansion from the Carlton brand in Singapore, regular guests will therefore recognise a few familiar elements such as the iconic Wah Lok Cantonese Restaurant – a name that’s now synonymous with fine Cantonese cuisine in Singapore for the past three decades. Bangkok’s branch will cater for up to 194 guests, led by Master Chef and Guangdong native Lam Kok Weng – the original chef who set up the first restaurant.

A host of four other dining and bar options are available, while the entire 10th floor has been dedicated to leisure, recreation and fitness facilities. The outdoor 30m pool in particular boasts a waterfall feature and bar, while the exercise studio will be open 24-hours perfect for business guests. For families, a Kids’ Zone is also found on this floor.

Carlton Hotel Bangkok Sukhumvit is also the third Carlton property affiliated with WorldHotels, now coming under the BWH Hotel Group after Best Western officially acquired the luxury hotel management company in 2019.
