SINGAPORE - Hertz has become the first global car rental company to operate in China, opening several locations in Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou.

It signed an agreement with China National Automobile Anhua (Tianjin) International Trade Company (CNAA) which will be Hertz’ licensee in China.

Hertz will operate under the trade name Hertz China and will have rental locations in downtown Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, and at Beijing Capital Airport.

Hertz executive vice president for marketing and sales Brian J. Kennedy said the agreement "should result in significant rental business in China and more overseas rentals by Chinese business people, tourists, and officials".

Reservations can be made by calling a toll-free number for China, 8008108883 or through the normal booking channels.
