JOHOR BAHRU – The ground-breaking ceremony of the Persada Johor International Convention Centre took place on November 2.

The convention center built at a cost of RM50 million will be the first such facility for Johor and South Malaysia, when it is completed in 2006.

The Persada Johor International Convention Centre will be divided into two levels - the convention centre on the upper level and the exhibition hall on the lower level.

In total, the convention centre will be able to hold up to 3,500 delegates in a theatre-style seating or 2,160 people, banquet-style, while its exhibition hall will have a capacity of 2,016 sq m to house some 100 medium-sized booths. The centre will also be equipped with full catering facilities on-site.

Sitting on a 1.2ha (six-acre) site, the centre will be connected to Puteri Pan Pacific Hotel via a bridge link, providing direct and convenient access to the hotel’s five-star facilities.
