SINGAPORE — Magical Shores at Siloso, Sentosa, launches today, the country’s first multi-sensory, interactive beach light art attraction, featuring vivid light, sound, and mist effects, offering island visitors a relaxing and ‘Instagrammable’ getaway any day of the year.
Happening in 15-minute cycles across four acts, 400 metres of Siloso Beach’s sandy shore as well as the two islets found across the waters will be bathed nightly in a soothing symphony of light, sound and mist. The interaction comes in when light beams trail after visitors’ feet, the art installations flowing from sand to islet, even as multi-coloured projections light up the night sky.
This latest night offering is part of Sentosa Development Corporation’s (SDC) multi-pronged approach to strengthen the island’s position as a night destination through more novel, after-dusk leisure experiences for locals and tourists.
At the launch event on Jan 22 held at beach club, Rumours, Quek Swee Kuan, CEO, Sentosa Development Corporation described how the newly opened spot already has guests staying until midnight on weekdays, and “this is the kind of vibrancy we want to see on the island”.
Apart from the beach art installation, other recently launched leisure offerings for Sentosa’s evening crowd include Rumours from Bali, 1-V:U at The Outpost Hotel, as well as the ongoing Asian Night Market: Taiwan Food Festival featuring Ningxia Night Market until Feb 9, 2020.
Upcoming day-to-night offerings include Stacks at Siloso, which Mr Quek announced will open “in a few months’ time…[it’s part of] SDC’s night strategy where we bring unique, vibrant night experiences for guests to enjoy at Sentosa”.
Free all year round, Magical Shores at Siloso runs from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.
