KUALA LUMPUR - As part of its 25th anniversary celebrations, Asian Overland Services Tours and Travel has revamped its website and launched a B2B online booking system.

AOS’ group managing director, Anthony Wong, said it took three years and about RM3 million (US$789,474) for the entire exercise.

"The B2B online booking gives instant confirmation for bookings made by our overseas partners and in real time. To drive users to the site we’re working with a number of partners, starting with the One Asia Alliance Network. We have also appointed representatives in Germany, Norway, France, UK and South Africa for the same purpose," said Wong.

With the online booking system, he also hopes to attract overseas tour operators to sell Malaysia as a travel destination.

To provide the inventory for instant confirmation, Wong is working with a number of industry partners in Malaysia namely hoteliers, car-rental companies and travel-related organisations. He welcomes any interested parties to participate in the system.

A New Zealand-based company, Tourplan, develops the online booking system. It is working with over 200 tour operators worldwide. AOS is first travel agency in Malaysia to use the system.
