The personal data of some 5.7 million Qantas customers have been leaked, after the airline first reported its cyber incident in early July after data was stolen via third party platform, Salesforce.
Official statements from Qantas noted that credit card details, personal financial information, passport details, passwords, PINs and login details remain safe. The airline has also maintained that stolen data will not affect frequent flyer accounts.

Majority of the leaked details included names, email addresses, frequent flyer details, birthdates, gender, business or home addresses, and contact numbers.
Qantas has a Supreme Court injunction preventing the stolen data from being published, but the airline will not be able to stop threat actors from releasing the information on the dark web.
The leak is part of a larger scale attack on other businesses who stored data with software giant, Salesforce. These include Disney, Ikea, Google, Air France and KLM.
