Türkiye’s low-cost carrier Pegasus Airlines – AirAsia’s first codeshare partner – is one of the most punctual airlines in the world.
According to the June 2026 On-Time Performance (OTP) report from aviation data and analytics company OAG, Pegasus Airlines ranked fifth in the world in the ‘Major Airlines’ category for carriers operating more than 20,000 flights in the month – with an on-time performance of 83.10%.
Founded 20 years ago and now with a fleet of predominantly Airbus A320 aircraft, Pegasus Airlines’ primary hub is at Istanbul Sabiha Gökçen International, connecting passengers onwards to 160 destinations in 56 countries, including 39 destinations across Türkiye.

The partnership initially covers five European destinations – London, Moscow, Athens, Ankara and Zurich - and will progressively open access to more than 100 routes between Asia and Europe via the combined network.

AirAsia says it will increase its Kuala Lumpur-Istanbul frequency to daily flights to support the partnership, although the airline has paused, at least until March 2027, a hub in Bahrain due to the Middle East conflict.
