Indonesia’s TransNusa Airline is launching flights between Bali and Guangzhou in China’s Guangdong Province, a first for an Indonesian carrier.

The airline also expects the new service to boost Australia-China connecting traffic by linking Guangzhou with its Perth services.

The Bali-Guangzhou service will commence on 13 April, operating four times per week using an Airbus A320 configured with 174 seats.

Bali-Perth flights will start on 20 March, initially running three times per week before going daily from 1 June.

TransNusa was established in 2005 as a domestic airline in Indonesia. After halting operations in 2020 due to the pandemic, the airline reappeared in 2022, rebranding from a budget to a premium service carrier.

The addition of Bali-Guangzhou will increase TransNusa’s mainland China network to five routes, complementing service from Jakarta to Guangzhou and Guiyang, and from Manado to Fuzhou and Guangzhou.

TransNusa group CEO Bernard Francis said, “While traditional routes such as Bali to Perth and Bali to Guangzhou are important, we also strive to go the extra mile to provide fast as well as seamless connectivity to our passengers.”

Tickets are now on sale for the new flights at promotional rates.
