Singapore Airlines has a treat in store for its customers with the progressive introduction of Starlink’s low Earth orbit satellite‑based broadband service on board the airline’s Airbus A350-900s, starting from 1Q 2027.

Customers in all cabin classes will have an elevated onboard experience, with activities such as video streaming, sharing content on social media, gaming and sending large files operating faster and more seamlessly than ever.

Customers in Suites, First Class, Business Class, PPS Club members, as well as KrisFlyer members travelling in Premium Economy Class and Economy Class, will continue to enjoy SIA’s unlimited complimentary Wi-Fi experience on board Starlink-enabled aircraft.

Airlines are increasingly hooking up to Starlink, the satellite system which uses radio signals through the vacuum of space. Ground stations broadcast signals to satellites in orbit, which in turn relay the data back to the Starlink users on Earth.

Emirates recently equipped the first of the airline’s flagship A380 aircraft with next-generation Starlink. The rollout of the super-fast Wi-Fi is scheduled to be completed across all Emirates aircraft by mid-2027, with 25 of its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft already benefiting from the service.
